I am so sorry!

I haven't written in over a month! I am so sorr. I betrayed you all! That's what it feels like at least
Christmas is in the air. Toes and ears and noses are nipped by the frosty air and fingers huddle in gloves, seeking warmth. I love it. I would say winter is my favourite season but I think they all are. I like getting cold and then warm and cozy. I just like it. I love runnng so fast in the cold that your eyes tear up and you cry and cry and are smiling but the warm tearsare trickling down your face and they won't stop even if you're reallyreally happy. And I love my friends veryveryveryvery much. Who listen even if some stupid thing you can't get out of your head (OMG I like totally saw my boyfriend with this like really cute girl and he was laughing at something she said and I was likeso jealous. I mean shouldn't he be with me???) ha just kidding! Us girls talk about our FEELINGS. Okay not true-- most of the time.
Were (yes I know there's an apostrophe I'm too lazy to hit it though, same with lots of commas) okay so we are (happy???) writing a creative essay (my favourite) in LA and I am very excited. I am doing Snow White retold. She's this 15 yr old girl who has mastered the art of self defence. On winter solstice she was found in a crumbling castle in Ireland. And sheis really pretty-white porcelian skin and raven hair and iceblue eyes. So she runs away to the mountains for a couple years and then finds a six year old girl Evalyn. And yeah... ID give it all away. By the way Snow Whites real name is Abigael. I gave them all Galeic names. Evalyn means bird and I can't remeber what Abigael means. Abigaels parents are Lord and Lady Aiden and Gwynth. The queen is Queen Diadre which means broken hearte and sorrowful. I kind of made up the name and discovered that meaning.

Scrolling down my mummy's blog-so many forgotten things. Makes me long for my past lives. It doesn't seem quite possible I'll never be in that house with my best friend again, running around and trying to make echoes. Or bouncing a bouncy ball along the hall, and quickly blaming Daddy when it hit the light fixture (true story-he did break a light bulb with a bouncy ball)
So I am content with photos and emailing. I still miss the suppressing heat, the joy of the first rain. The noisy classrooms with the old-fashioned desks and windows without screens. Walking into a mosquito net in the middle of the night when you have to pee like nobody's business. (Don't ask how many times that happened-I lost track after about 57)
But, hey, I am content now.
I guess.
random, but I LOVE my friends. One thing about having so many is that I love going to different ones when I'm in different moods. Andi and Kristen if you m=need to spill out a secret, Maddie and Alex and Sariah and Quinn if you just want fun, Anneka and 'Lisabeth if you desperately want to tease someone, Clara for a laugh, the guys if you want to talk about something OTHER than guys or makeup....Just kidding. Though most girls don't appreciate a good book. They are all slow readers which can bug me. Well, not all. Most. The list goes on. And they all are like my sisters. Or brothers.

Love

Spending a bit of quiet time next to my best friend in LA, skimming through pictures of me with short hair (much to my friends amusement) and writing a song in my head. I can never seem to stop the constant flow of songs through my head. It means I often sing random lines. Maths-playing with our awesome teacher's son-he has FINALLY stopped calling me Jonah. Settled for Ana instead. And begged for me to push him on the swing. Seems so much more fun than finding the least common multiples. Ah well.
there are times like this that are just so precious. Seeing my best friend read my mummy's blog, after I showed her how to make one. She was really excited. And she got so happy when only one of the sweetest people I know held out a loving hand to get her up off the ground. Just like me...I hope.
I love this school. We watch out for each other. Help each other along. I have so many precious friends. To think, I have only had one or two best friends before, but now I have a million! They are all so amazing. I love them all.

Things I've learned.

Say I love you every chance you get.
Even though it can be difficult, catch whatever life throws at you.
It's okay to cry.
Make a good friend you can trust with anything, even if you're not a trusting person.
Don't let the past stain your future.
Even though it can be hard, impulsiveness has its quirks
Scream when you hurt.
Throw yourself into the things you love
Don't be scared to take a risk-even if you fail, you learned, right?
Question things.
Be proud of your accomplishments.
Speak your mind.
Learn to let things go.
Practice detachment
Be patient
Hug people
Eat cookies
Swing
Stand up for someone.
Express yourself
Make a fire ( IN a fireplace)
Laugh.
Don't be afraid to go out there and fall in love with someone, even if you've been hurt before
Hike
Look to the horizon, not at your feet (It's prettier)
Focus on the present and the future.
Don't dwell on things you can't change
Don't give up
Sing your heart out
Remember that there's always someone out there who loves you.
Live life to the fullest-who knows if there even is a tomorrow?
Live a simple life.
Listen to good music-it helps clear your mind when you're mad.
NEVER say "I can't!"
Keep contact with people you hold dear.
Call someone at a random time just to tell them you love them.
Drink tea.
Cry when you're happy, sad, or anything in between. There's no shame in it.
Don't complicate already complicated things.
Don't be scared to say what you feel-someone will listen.
Smile.

HI!

Halloween dance tonight! YAY! I got my eye stabbed out on the bus. One of my friends tried to give me a V8 but we went over a bump and he missed my forehead and got my open eye with his palm. HARD. I tried putting a band-aid over it so i wouldn't strain it. That worked well...OR NOT! I DIDN'T rip off my eyelashes, but I suspect my right eyebrow is slightly bald. Oops. Ah well. they're ninja eyebrows-practically invisible. haha. Oooh ooh LOOK! ninja- QK see it? tilt your head sideways.
My friends teased me about my band aid eye patch, evidently I looked like a pirate. ARGH! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Mwah ha ha.
haha. i wrote "jouse" insteed of house. And yes, spell check, I KNOW it's not a word you don't need that squiggly annoying line under EVERYTHING! It's called being creative and making up your own words. SO THERE!
Ha!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRgh! My sliver tooth is wobbly. When it falls out I'mm gonna stick it in Coke and then have a silver-metal-cap of my tooth. AWESOMENESS!
Did you know something? Silver and orange are the two English words that don't rhyme. That means antidisestablishmenterianism, the longest common English word, has a rhyme. COOL!

ok. ENUFF! Yoda. HA! Anyway. BYE!
love

Hello lovely persons!

Halloween. Went to school dressed up as...wait for it... AN UNDERCOVER NINJA GOING AS A LIVERPOOL SUPERHERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dun dun dun DUH!
Yeah. I went to a Halloween party and I opened the door and my best friend was staring at me and we both almost screamed! HA! It was rather amusing. And then we talked about how automatic doors make us feel like Jedis. HOW COOL IS THAT???? Kristen says she needs to take me to a special trip to the grocery store and just walk through the automatic doors a million times. She says she once went through like a superhero but the doors didn't open in time so she went SPLAT! against the glass. I think I fell over laughing.
And my friend, who is totally obsessed with star Wars doesn't get it. I don't think he can hear me. I may as well scream it across the classroom... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! I should DO THAT! Ah, maybe at recess. AUTOMATIC DOORS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A JEDI!!!!!!!! ARG!!!!!!
I also learned a really pretty song at choir. Goes like this:
Ah poor bird,
Take your flight
High above the sorrow
Of this cold night

T'is pretty. especially 'cause of the ostinato or whatever. And it's a really high melody. I'd give a demonstration. Too bad it's a computer!
AND my song-writing block is gone! I was ALMOST over it and then it came up again but now it's GONE!!!!!!!! YAY!

Beautiful STUFF! BANDBANDBAND!!!!!

Not much to say. Typical school week (noisy, crazy,chaotic...) Amazing sunrises. First frost on the 25th. COLD. I've been becoming fast friends with A GIRL. Her name is Andi. She is in Middle School, but in Bella's class, but in my class. Confusing. I am not explaining. Anyway, she is very extremely cool. She does ballet and we are lead singers of our teenytiny band. OH MY GOSH! BRAINWAVE! Me and a couple of my friends should start a band! OH MY GOSH! I am already in one... but our personal one! COOL IDEAS! OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to get started. I told Andi first thing. AWESOMENESS! OH OH OH!!!! Ok. Sorry for the short post but I need to get started. Who plans a band in an English class? Me. SO THERE!

We got back from the coast. I loved it. And got a lovely welcome from my best friends, including an ACCIDENTAL hand across the face. My eyeball is messed up. I got scratched by a fingernail. I also fell sideways off a chair, tripped down the stairs and walked into a wall. NICE.
I dropped a jellyfish down my little brother's underwear and died laughing. He waddled.
When Katie gets Hyper...
When Katie gets hyper, leave
or stay.
watch her laugh
and scream
(VERY loudly)
and run in circles
jabbering twenty miles a minute
(one mile wasn't enough)

everything from Mr Weinie, her dog
to the llama next door

When Maddie gets hyper...
make a face. she laughs
make her jump up and down
maybe about thirty or so times
and DON'T bring up Duncan.
Whatever you do.
Don't.
Bring.
Up.

Ocean

My family is currently in a sweet little town by the sea and I couldn't be happier. Well, maybe. The beach is a block away and as soon as we got here I pulled off my mismatching Converse (courtesy of my two best friends-one friend gave me a purple pair and then my other friend and I got our shoes mixed up and were too lazy to change them)
I ran to the beach immediately. My bare feet slapping the wet sand, my hair already in a sticky mass of red tangled ringlets. I was soaked in seconds flat. And then my obsession with marine biology kicked in. Looking at barnacles, peering at jellyfish and anemones and determining the ages of seagulls. Then we went to a famous clam chowder place. I ate more than my dad, (stuffed myself actually)and was hungry two hours later. Typical.
So here I am, looking over a sleeping city at six thirty AM. Curled up, cozy, just about to pick up my book. Well, after I eat. Or maybe go for a walk... In the dark...
For injuries: I fell over onto a coffee table sitting down doing up my shoes. Many other. Can't be bothered to track.

Wednesday, 19 October 2011

Here we go again...

My injuries TODAY include:
1. Getting my fingers slammed in a locker. I can't write and can barely type using my thumb. They are all taped together. If the blow didn't catch my knuckles and nail, I'd be in a lot more pain. Yay.
2. Tripped and fell in PE quite nastily
3. Bashed my ankle tripping AGAIN in PE
4. Ran into a pole and sliced open my lip
And it isn't even 11:30

Monday, 17 October 2011

so...another one!

So, don't fear! I am here...again... sigh. Today was sunny! YAY! Okay, okay, let me give you the list of injuries I got in, um.. let's give it ten minutes. (we were playing a VERY dangerous game. I DIF warn fellow players I would get hurt)
1. I fell off the play structure (almost) and got several scrapes and a jolted arm.
2. Two minutes later I scraped part of the skin off several fingers on my left hand.
3. I tripped.
4.Tripped again
5. Tried to go down the slide.  Jolted my just-unjolted arm and both knees.
6. Jolted my OTHER arm on the slide
(at this point I was at the bottom of the slide half laughing, half groaning)
7. Bang rell, I mean, bell rang for end of recess. On the way to my next class, I stepped on a rock right were I sliced open my foot two days before (read previous post)
8. Then we played another game(despite my warnings of me accidently killing myself) where of course, I spun around with my eyes closed and then ( very dizzily) tried to get people. My friends, of course, had to tickle me. ARGH!!!!! I hate whoever told them I was ticklish... Take that back. I think it was me...
All in all, a loverly typical day in the pain category. I am rather used to it. I think I am growing too fast.
And HA! My evil face is nearly all washed off because of my swim.
Chlorine-1 Sharpie-0
And now, to get back to my lovely best friend- HOMEWORK. Save me, somebody...
~A~
IT HAS SQUIGGLES!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~oooooOooo SQUIGGLES!

Birthdays!

T'is the season for birthdays... My little brother Asher had his birthday this weekend. On the last count, I believe there was nine or ten seven and eight year olds running around our house. Most were hyper boys. I ate myself sick on junk food, oh joy. I still haven't completely recovered my appetite. it is so weird, not having to eat ALL THE BLOOMING TIME! Like part of your fingers don't work. I hope it returns...
Our house looked like a bomb went off the next morning.
And then there were relatives dropping by ALL weekend (thank goodness it was a three day weekend, or I think I'd be dead...) so our house was in a continuous state of disarray. It still hasn't recovered.
I also sliced open my foot! YAY! Or not. Very deep, on what I suspect was a rusty nail. Oops. Ah well, I didn't die...yet. Mwahhaha!
I have swim today with my best friend and her little sister with my little sister. It is very fun (and cold when you walk home in the rain with wet hair)
AND!!!!! Liverpool (the awesomest team EVER!) played their HUGEINORMOUS rivals Manchester United on Saturday. Liverpool's captain Steven Gerrard has been out for seven months on account of a groin surgery. It was his first game in a long time, and he scored on a free kick (it was a home game at Anfield, Liverpool's field(duh, it was a HOME game)). Man U scored too >:(| so it ended up being a draw, 1-1. but it could be worse, I guess. Liverpool is in fifth place, which is awesome considering that they only just recovered from their awful manager now two seasons ago.
Anyway, enough with the FOOTBALL blabber. i need to help my best friend set up a blog just like mine. So, goodbye.Haha, Jonah just freaked out at Clara for "hiccuping". I love watching other people argue. I understand why my friends all group around me when I start arguing... Mind you, it's always with my frenemies, so I guess it's allowed.
Bye for REAL this time,
~A~

School stuffishness

Today is the best day of the week. Wednesdays always are. The Friday of the week. And I have guitar AND band AND swim which makes it triply awesome. Everyone loves electives.
And we have a bit of a mystery on our hands, my best friend (well, one of them) and I. It is really quite weird. Quite weird. And VERY frustrating
A little drama right there. Our grades were dropping considerably ( A few of my friends and I on Powerschool) every time we checked. 100% to 70% to 56% . In minutes. But our teacher was changing it, thank goodness gracious with cherries on top.
We don't have school Friday! I am looking forward to it, a weekend of Laziness. With a capital L.
But my friend is SICK. It is AWFUL! She left. I feel bad for her. IF YOU'RE READING THIS MADDIE I HOPE YOU'RE BETTER NOW!!!!
There we go. I love this study hall. It is very quiet and peaceful. Unlike 98% of my other classes. Ah, the shouting of adolescent boys showing off. Ugh. VERY irritating.
But, all in all, it has been a good day, all five hours of it. Even if I am hungry. I swear I eat more of my lunch in class or on the bus (shh!) then at lunch...
I had the weirdest dream last night. Creepy, really. Don't you hate it when your dreams mix the past and present? It's so weird. Dreams are very powerful.
Ah, my class is so special. VERY special. haha (please don't kill me)
We also started the VERY beginning of our country reports. i am very proudly doing Scotland, in honour of my ancestors. I plan on making our Scottish shortbread and wearing our clan kilt. So excited!
Well, this was a really rambling post, but it is only school. Very rhythmic. I once said rhythmatic because I couldn't remember the word. I do that a lot.
love.

Tuesday, 11 October 2011

And, yes, it's drizzling. I am so thankful for cozy places. And good friends to talk to (even if we are supposed to be doing our work...oops)
Yes, everything is the same. The bus is noisy and irritating, as always (even though I stubbornly refuse to admit I love it-even though I do anyway) Friends are being... themselves, I guess. Bugging me, as always. (AHEM! You know who you are)
Everything is the same, with winter snapping at our heels.
I also went to a pumpkin patch and got a HUGE pumpkin covered in WARTS! It is very cool.

Friday, 7 October 2011

So here I am-sick, reading and working on my first ever blog post!
Typical to Oregon, it's raining. Thank goodness for good books and endless cups of tea.
The house is quiet, with my siblings expected home soon.  I wish I were at school-I miss the cozy chatter of close companions.  Even if it's very loud.
One of the recent books I have enjoyed is called The Beduins Gazelle- a lovely book set in the Arab world in the 1300s. The girl is very graceful, called a gazelle. Just like me. However, I am RATHER lacking in the grace department. I am called rather fondly so by my close friends on account of the terribly long legs.
